Jacksons Lane CPD – Caring Circus

One of Jacksons Lane’s most important goals is to deliver activities that can benefit participants’ mental and physical wellbeing. We work in partnership with professional circus artists to create safe and inclusive spaces where everyone can have freedom to explore and discover their interest within the circus skills we teach (juggling, balancing and object manipulation). We have delivered our sessions in SEND primary and secondary schools, alternative provisions, and mainstream education.

We want to provide teachers and school staff a toolkit of games and exercises that they can use with students during PE, drama, or breaks.

Our offer:

  • We will teach how to use circus equipment on a beginners’ level. The skills we offer are: juggling balls, rings, scarves, spinning plates, rolla bolla, diabolo, flower sticks and/or poi.
  • Games and exercises to benefit mental wellbeing: relaxation, patience, perseverance, and focus.
  • Games and exercises to benefit physical wellbeing: mobility, strength, and flexibility.
  • Analyse case studies and importance of students finding THEIR favourite skill.
