Alexandra Palace CPD
Alexandra Palace and Alexandra Park are rich learning environments offering unique CPD for educators across all phases. Our Creativity in Outdoor Education sessions are active, reflective, and rooted in both nature connection and curriculum delivery. These sessions support mental health and wellbeing, while also empowering educators to explore student agency and freedom in learning.
Expert-led sessions explore cross-curricular links between nature and subjects such as Art, Design Technology, English, Maths and Science.
We can offer the following:
Creativity in Outdoor Education
A hands-on workshop in the stunning surroundings of Alexandra Park, this session helps educators reimagine the outdoors as a classroom. Practical activities include:
- Noticing and documenting change in nature
- Constructing with natural materials
- Exploring pollination, minibeasts and the food chain
- Metamorphosis and transformation in learning
- Measuring time without clocks
- Water cycles and plant transport
- Coding and circuits with natural materials
- Storytelling using natural resources
The session also creates space for reflection on learning outdoors, creative risk-taking, and the power of mud! As participant Caroline put it: “You could do a whole lesson just on mud, or a whole term’s worth of learning!”
Available as twilight, half-day or full-day sessions.
